What is Kombucha?

GT's Living Foods has been crafting raw kombucha since 1995. As experts and stewards of the ancient fermented tea, SYNERGY is always traditionally cultured - never made with cut corners or a simplified recipe. For almost 30 years SYNERGY has been crafted in small 5-gallon batches, fermented using the original heirloom SCOBY passed down from GT's mother, and fully fermented for 30 days to maximize the nutrients. Why does SYNERGY have sugar?
Kombucha is grown, not made. Similar to a fruit or vegetable, rather than a soda or energy drink, kombucha is a living food and requires an energy source to grow and thrive.
